I'm in my late teens/male.I have this problem in my head that my personality is rubbish and i dont fit in.When i meet a new person and think his personality is great because everyone likes him and he gets on with everyone i feel that i need to have his personality and try to change mine because i'm not getting the attention.I go through this everyday, trying to change who i am and its starting to really get me down.I'm in my teens, are these normal feelings.I think that maybe its normal and that its just the way u go about discoveing your identity.I have no socail life at home but i do at college.my college is far from my home.Poeple say i'm cocky, other say i'm quiet, then i'm told i'm good looking but i carnt get a girl freind.Others say i have no confidence but i can stand up for my self and b a rite moody git.I can talk to people but i feel they dont like me and i'm scared to get to close to them.I'm really confused about who i am.I really do need for someone to understand what i'm feelinging

In a certain sense, I think it's normal for you to feel this way. I'm alot older than you and when I see someone who I admire or who's traits make them a nice person, I still try and adopt these better qualities. I think we continually try and add qualities to ourselves that we see in others.

If you're doing it just for attention, it's probably not so good. But if you're truly just looking to better yourself with traits you see in others, it's a learning experience.

I think it's a good thing that you can reflect on your behavior or personality and see things that you'd like to change at such a young age. Some people don't learn to do this their whole lives. You should throw out the bad and try to adopt the good. I'd say you're perfectly normal
