Ahoy!
I am just interested in knowing what you folks think of my regimen. I am a 6'5" 280 pound twenty-two year old male, and I am attempting to get down to around 205 pounds. I usually have between 35-42 grams of fat per day, 375-400 grams of carbohydrates per day, and usually less than 2000 calories per day. I also try to jog around three times a week. About how long till I reach my weight goal? Your comments appreciated.

Hi, You have roughly 80 lbs to lose. If you lose 2lbs a week it would take 40 weeks. You'd likely lose more than 2 per week for the first few weeks then it would slow down a bit. To lose one pound a week you have to eat 3500 less calories that week or 500 less a day.
If your goal is 205, then 2000 calories is about what you should be eating. Don't get discouraged that it may take awhile. Try looking at if you DIDN'T do it. You'd still be the same in 40 weeks. By Christmas you could be nearly there and ask Santa for all new clothes :)
Good luck to you.

You're a big boy. To make sure you reach your goal try to find a sport that you enjoy. I have been the same weight for 20 years and look 15 years younger as a result. I started off being a distance runner.

It sounds like you need to exercise a little more. You should really start lifting weights. It will burn more calories and raise your metablolism. You don't have to get massive, just enough to break a sweat. The more muscle you build, the more fat you'll burn. Good luck!
