Look under the post "help me turn 50" and you'll see some games I had posted. Get him black roses. A bunch of "old fart"stuff.

4 Ever Young........gads when I hit fifty seveal years ago friends gave me a party. I receive: Preperation H, a whoopie cushion, a rocking chari with a shawl, ora fix a jar with fake dentures, a hot water bottle. You could also give him a jar of jelly beans and make a label for Vigra!!!!!!!! Take when needed!!!!!!
How about a blow up manikin doll. I don't know what you call them. There has to be other funny things you can send this macho dude. donna

On the Cosby show today (rerun of course) Bill turned 50 and his kids gave him a little slide show showing all the things that were older than he was like FIRE, the WHEEL, DIRT and so on. It was cute!

When I was a kid I remember the neighbourhood gang having a surprise birthday party for one of their friends, only it was a funeral service, complete with a casket, roses and "mourners" dressed in black.
A couple of years ago my sister gave my dad a sympathy card for his birthday. It was hilarious "you are in our thoughts in your greatest moment of grief".

I just want at least one card with a picture of an old sage on it--to remind me that it's not the number or the wrinkles I should be concerned about, but the wisdom and spiritual awareness that makes one worthy of a long life.
Yeah, we all laugh, but turning 50 really does hurt in a lot of ways, regardless of your perspective.

Hi - One more idea, tho that birthday may be over with by now! I gave my husband a huge balloon with a picture of the Grim Reaper on it - the caption was "Don't worry - I'm just here for the cake!"
He loved it!
Peace - Barbara

I don't know how much this would cost, but a slogan trailing behind one of those Goodyear blimps.
Black Over The Hill balloons.
You could have his birthday party and all dress up in disco clothes from the 70s. I'm sure you could find something at vintage or thrift stores, to remind him of how old he is.
