Hi - have any of you got LASIK eye surgery? How did it go? Are you happy you had it done? Please get back to me ASAP! I want to do it but I am scared, I am -2 in both eyes, mild prescription and I am in San Diego, CA. Any advice?? Thanks :-)

Hi MoonGoddess-
I haven't had this procedure done but have you posted this on the EYE and VISION BOARD? I know you'll get lots of "hits" there.

My brother had it done and he said it's the best thing he's ever spent his money on.

Two of my hubbies co-workers had it done and they love
the results. It was expensive though and it may have
to be done again sometime in the future.
I wear glasses and like all the new styles these days..the kids think there cool.

I had the surgery done two years ago. It was the best thing I ever did.
Follow their instructions to the T. Do NOT rub your eyes after the surgery for a good year.
My vision is 20 20 in both eyes. Perfect. I wore glasses since I was 13. Never again. Or, at least I hope not.
Get the surgery. The process is not bad. It's over in about 10 minutes.

I had it done 5 and a half years ago and my vision has remained great ever since. My vision was around -4.5 when i had it done and i had both eyes done at once (some people are scared and do one eye at a time). It's the best money i ever spent. After i had it done i used to go to the bathroom each night to take my contacts out... I kept forgetting that i wasn't wearing them anymore http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
It's great to be able to dive into water and keep my eyes open and not worry about losing a contact lense, go to the beach for a swim and be able to see where you left your towel, not have to take solutions and saline for contacts with me each time i go away, i can be lazy and fall asleep and not worry about did i take my contacts out?, not having to constantly clean glasses, getting rain drops on glasses and red marks on my nose from glasses, always having to update glasses and contacts.
I have never taken my eyes sight for granted since having it corrected b/c it was almost like being blind and having somebody perform a miracle and giving you your sight back http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
