I had a hernia on my right side last year. I waited 3 months to start working out, then I worked out for about 4 months. But then I started to have pains, I went to my doctor and he said that I have a hernia now on my left side. It is very small though and I have to wait 3 months and go do another checkup. So I pretty much cannot work out for a good 6 months and probably more.

But the problem I have is I really want to work out, if it wasnt for hernias I would have been working out for about a year and a half. But I always have to stop for some reason and I am very upset. So what kind of workouts would be safe? Like I asked my doctor if I could do sit ups and he said it is alright but I am not to sure if I really am able to do em without further injuring myself.

I was wondering if pushups are okay and if indeed sit ups are too. I guess I will be doing alot of cardio exercises and do alot of sports, but I want to get built too.

If anybody knows what I can do or a website or place that could help me please tell me. I would very appreciate anything that could help.

Thank you,
Joseph Simhon

Well, walking might be a good way to help stay in shape. But if it were me, I'd rather wait and talk with my doctor about what exercises would be okay.
