Two weeks ago my 14 year old son developed a hive like rash. He had to be rushed to the hospital twice due to the swelling of his lips and tongue. We have seen three doctors and have been told he has "chronic uticaria" and no one can tell us why or what's causing it. He has never had an allergic reaction to anything before. He is currently on Prednisone, Atarax, Benydryl and claritin, yet he continues to break out from head to toe. He is covered. He seems to be worse late at night and early in the morning. Does anyone have any suggestions. My son is devastated over this. I don't know how to help him. I would appreciate any input. I am also interested in any alternative treatments that might help, as I am concerned that he is on so many drugs. Thank you from a worried Mom.
