Hi, low blood counts could be a cause for many things. You could be fighting a virus or a bacteria infection. Also depends on what blood cells, Is it red blood cells
or is it your white blood cells? A little more info and I may be able to help better. Is your doctor checking for something in perticular? Becky

Hi, It is possible, but there are so many other things that could cause a low blood count. My daughter who will be 12 next month, Her blood count was low, so of course My thought was leukemia. It turned out to be mono. I also had a low blood count and it turned out I had a bacteria infection, after some antibiotics My blood work was taken again and it was fine. Usually, white blood cells fight infections wheather it is viral, bacterial or cancer. Usually leukemia will have other symptoms. Are there any symptoms you are experience? If you give me more info on what your experiencing, I could have you better. What has your doctor said? I know I'm not much help and of course I'm not a doctor, maybe projorti could be more help.
Please keep in touch and let me know how it turns out.
Becky

When they say low blood count you need to find out just what specifically is low. Since you are unsure call your doc office and speak to his nurse to ask her more about your test results. Without knowing more specific info there is no way anyone can have a clue what is going on.
