My sinuses were draining recently, and I now have developed blockage and pain in my ear. It is really hard to sleep. Any ways to unblock the ear?

You need to see the doc as ear pain can be a sign of an infection. See your doc and get this checked out. You may have had or still have a sinus infection that has gone into your ears. Have the doc check this out before you wind up with some permanent hearing problems.

I know just how you feel as I have a semi-blocked ear just now. I assume you mean the eustatian tube that keeps the pressures balanced in you ear?
i have heard you can unblock your ear by holding your nose and drinking a glass of water and the vacuum created sucks out any mucus blocking it. I haven't tried it myself.
Gentler methods like yawning or sort of 'stretching' your throat can help open the eustatian tube, lie with the blocked ear UPPERMOST so it can drain, and some OL-BAS on a tissue nearby can help, keeping your intake of dairy foods low for a few days whilst you recover is another thing I find helps.
So...I am in trouble because i sleep on the affected side, have had too many dairy foods and have lost my OL-BAS, LOL!
