View Full Version : Dust Allergies

I am 30 years old and just started having problems with allergies last summer. They were your typical sneezing, stuffy nose, watery eyes symptoms. In the Fall I started feeling a bit dizzy every now and then, and when I woke up each morning my nose would feel really stuffed up. I could still breathe easy, but it felt like I had dust or something way up high in my nose, and when I touched the side of my nose it was sore, like there was inflammation. They say if you are allergic to something you have to get away from it, but how can you completely clean your house of dust and mold? I will always be surrounded by it, meaning I will always suffer. Claritin doesn't help at all, and sometimes to get rid of my dizziness I have to take decongestants.

Has anyone ever had allergies to a point that it's caused alot of sinus and ear problems? I feel maybe all the mucus from my allergies never got cleared out, and now it's affected my sinuses and my ears. Does anyone know of a solution to my problem. I have been on nasal steriod sprays which do nothing for me...my nose feels more inflammed then ever and it feels so terribly dry. Nothing is getting drained out, and now I just feel frustrated to no end.

Allergies come on the 7 year plan. You said you are 30 and the allergies hit last year. I'd be willing to bet that your birthday is in the latter part of the year (after allergy season). When you turned 28 you hit another 7. Every 7 years your allergies may change...some you get some you lose. All the symptoms you have described I get, but you get watery eyes where I get ITCHY eyes...very nasty! Anyway , I had for years gone without taking medication for my seasonals, as I had a bad reaction to an allergy medication my sister gave me. I believe it reacted badly to a medication I was already taking for hyperactivity. I found a great NATURAL remedy at the health food store in '90 and used it for 3 years. It was from the US and simply called ALG. In '94 (before I could get some) it was taken off the shelves in Canada so I went to a Chinese herbalist. He gave me Pi Min Kan Wan, which is a small green herbal pill which eliminated my seasonal allergies. They look and taste like smarties...I know of at least 20 people who take them seasonally and have NO SIDE EFFECTS! You can get them ONLY at a chinese herb store. Make sure that inside the box there is a 'certificate of authenticity' and don't eat ANY seafood while taking them. The fish oil somehow lessens the herbs effects.
Good luck...been there and done that!
