In May this year I had Carpul Surgery on my right hand and the same on my left hand in July. In August I started experiencing carpul tunnell symptons again. I have had nerve studies done and it shows that my hand should be ok. I am now experiencing pain around my wrist and in the palm of my hand near the thumb. At night I am waking up with numb and tingling hands and am constantly dropping things. I am only back at work 3 hours a day and this seems to be making the matter worst. My Doctor has told me that there is nothing else they can do for me. Just wondering what suggestions anyone has got in order to help get my hands back to normal.

Is you doctor a general surgeon or a specialist in orthopedics and hand surgery?

I don't think I would give up yet.... and would definitely get a second opinion with another hand surgeon.

In some areas of some states you can not get a second opinion without approval of the 1st doctor. They all share a common database & can see that you are already a patient of someone else.

Good luck,

This may seem pretty far fetched but have you ever had your thyroid tested?
Sometimes nerve problems are actually caused by an underactive thyroid. And in these cases, surgery may not help and may actually make it worse due to the inability of tissue to properly heal, thus causing excess scar tissue.
It may be worth looking into.
I went through it as I have cubital tunnel syndrome (elbow-no surgery) and hypothyroidism. As my thyroid meds are being adjusted, I have noticed that the numbness, tingling and pain are almost totally gone. Maybe once my meds are adjusted properly, I'll be "healed".
