Some grow back, some don't. My husband gets what I call "hangie moles" the skin flap kind that stick up. He will cut them off and sometimes they come back. I am assuming this is the type you have, since you cut them off with little pain. Not much help I know, but that's all I know about them.

Be carefull doing this. moles have a tendency to bleed alot and you are putting yourself at risk for infection. Most likely they will grow back.

Ouch, that sounds really painful! This does put you at risk for an infection. It's probably best to have a doctor remove them. I don't think they usually grow back when a doctor does it. I guess I am curious why you "couldn't take it anymore" and had to remove them yourself?

I dont know .. I have always hated them ... and to get them removed by a doctor is considered cosmetic surgery ... .. it isnt covered to have them removed .. unless it is for health reasons.

.. After I already removed them myself ... I learned of 2 other ways people have been removing them with success...

1.... is the garlic method.... bandage a slice of garlic on the mole.... cover the surrounding area around the mole with vaseline .. to prevent that area from burning.

2. cold pressed castor oil and baking soda ...

... If they groe back .. I plan on trying one of these methods...

.. I dont think I will get an infection .. I have kept the area clean that I have cut ... ..

... I also did it myself .. because .. I thought to myself..... It isnt like the doctor is going to use any fancy equipment to do this... the only thing he has tha I dont is the freezing .. so if I can deal with the pain .. then its the same thing ...

Although im unsure id reach for alcohol to remove it.id probably drink it..then let someone cut it off ..!! ( im kidding )

I guess I have always thought moles are cute. I love all of mine. I can't imagine cutting one off. They are one of those things that make everyone different. But if they truly bother you, there's nothing wrong with having them removed.

1 or 2 on your whole body isnt bad ...

I have one on my cheek that I dont mind.

but the ones on my stomach I hate... thats why I cut them off.

..

... hopefully they heal ok.

Couple of issues:

1) If you complain of irritation, the mole catching on clothing, iterrmittent bleeding, etc. It will not be considered a cosmetic procedure and will be covered by medicare. Most private insurers follow medicare rules in this regard.

2) Many "moles" are not usually cancerous, but its hard to know unless you have been trained in what to look for. Although the common definitions are correct (irregular shaping, discoloration, etc.) are good indicators, they aren't the only ones. Even if you decide to remove it yourself, you should have your doctor examine it first.

3) Infection is usually caused not after the wound by contact with air, but during the excision by contact with the instrument. If you are going to do this yourself, please boil the instruments for at least 20 minutes. Aka, take your knife, razor blades, siccors, etc, and put them in boiling water for 20 minutes.

Washing them in soapy water, your dishwasher, etc. will not steralize them and you risk infection.

One note: A pressure cooker would be even better, to truley steralize, you want a wet 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Since 212 is the most you can achive w/o steam, you get the idea.

Many doctor's now buy disposable blades instead of autoclaving, but you can't buy these w/o a prescription or medical license.

Wish I knew this before .. hahaha

The following link is the actual Medicare policy that applies in Mississippi, Alabama, and Arkansaw. Each state has a local carrier that sets their own rules, but they all will be fairly similar.

Doing this is an unwise practice , better left up to a dermatologist.

I have them too , all over my shoulders , they are called "Skin Tags ". But I have Neurofibromatosis and they are commen in folks with NF.

Don't cut nothing off your self.
No matter how clean you think your doing it , your always open to infection !
