Does anybody else have this problem ? I seem to do so without realizing I'm doing it. Mostly when I'm stressed out. I've been to a gastro doc got scoped and put on prevacid. Really doesn't help much. I'm just tired of this feeling of chest pressure and the constant belching. Anybody with advice ? Thanks JC

the essential thing with aerophagy is when you feel chest pain don't try to belch - suppress the desire. when you force a belch (eructate) you swallow air so there is a vicious cycle established. difficult but it works

Hello
You could try taking charcoal tablets (capsules are nicer). They absorb gas. Very useful.
Do not take within and hour of medication cause it absorbs some of that too.
Buy it at a health store/pharmacy.
I use Papaya and Charcoal combined.
Best wishes

airswallowing is common for anxious people and as you say, causes frequent burping
