2000 was a tough year on me for endo. In Jan. I lost my right overy and tube. Then started 6 months of lupron Jan-July. My period started right back up just as painful and heavy as it was before. My dr. tried to talk me into doing a second round of lupron which is risky and can be dangerous. I went to talk to a gyn/surgeon. Since I am done having kids it was decided the best thing would be to have a complete hysterectomy. So in Oct. that is what I had done. I also found out afterwards that I had adenomyosis along with the endometriosis. Also the lupron had done little for me the six months I had taken it which they were able to confirm once they were inside me. My dr. mentioned this to me after surgery about how I made the correct choice to go with surgery vs. lupron. Now, 3 months after surgery, I feel great! I am on no hormone replacement therapy and can not be for 1 year. I can't risk stimulating any endo growth inside again.
