Raynauds Disease, a disease affecting the circulation affects thousands each year. It is hereditary and is confused with Lupus. While searching on the wonderful world of Web for information on this disease I was fortunate to find others who posted web sites and message boards regarding this problem. The fingers, and toes are most affected by the cold and stress. Circulation is cut off and eventually if not properly cared for and diagnosed, amputation could occur. Please consider this disease as part of your forum..even as a test. Just see how many click in for it! Thanks!

I second your suggestion! Raynaud's Disease runs in my family, and it would be useful to have a forum to discuss it.

Rachel, thanks for the second! My mother had it and she was 56 when she passed away. In the seventies it was known about..but not seen much by physicians in my area. My mother had heart problems too but there was no meds for her for the raynauds then and I had no way to disguss this with her as she did pass on. My brother is in Fla and he has it in his toes. I found some support on line via typing Raynauds in and found some people in Canada with it. I would love to disguss meds and help with anyone who has this.
As for now, I can suggest Rachel, those small hot packs that are used for hunters. They can be optained in sporting goods stores. I am familiar with Mycor and Hot Hands. They are great and not a bad price. They stay hot up to twenty four hours depending on the brand. I put them in my mittens or gloves when going out and to the supermarket. (frozen foods..oooh) anyone who wishes to disguss this with me, babesbarn@hotmail.com I can be reached there!

I also agree. My mother has Raynaud's Phenomenom and I also see posts about this problem throughout these boards. Would be nice to see a forum about it. :)
Take Care,
Lori

Just a sidenote for anyone with Raynauds...there is a product that is wonderful that I found this year. They are called Mycor hot hands. Or just hot hands. These are sold in sporting goods stores. I found mine in sportsauthority.com under the heading of hunting/outdoors sports. HEATERS
They are very efficient little pads that when opened and exposed to the air heat up. They heat up real hot too and are wonderful to wear under mittens or gloves. I use them at the supermarket. In the summer I just keep one with me and shift it from one hand to the other. My hands do not turn white then. they stay toasty warm. My doctor saw me using one and remarked what a wonderful Idea it was and is very cost efficient. They cost in the bulk at places like Costco or BJ's 17 dollars for 40 packs. Each pack lasts up to ten hours. Some that are sold at Sportsauthority.com last up to 24 hours and are larger. They cost a bit more at 10 for 11 dollars. I purchased the bulk size and did not even get a dent into the packs this winter. Watching tv, driving, supermarket...anywhere. Try it!
