just curious why in the recent past i wasn't able to respond to msgs and posts.
i had to retype in my password and such again.

I have no idea.
If you have to retype your password you might have a problem reading this site's cookie on your web browser. My suggestion would be to redo your cookie by clicking on the preference link right under the "New Topic" and "Reply" button located on the top right. There are instructions on how to reset.
