Just to maybe help someone: I've had sinus miseries and infections for 27 years. Thanks to Claritin, I'm much better BUT I still have trouble sometimes. 3 months ago I stopped drinking milk. My sinuses are about 50% better. (Which is a lot!) Since I was drinking tons of milk everyday and now only use it in 2 cups of coffee a day, I know for sure that it was the culprit. I can't believe it took me 27 years of antibiotics and medicines to figure out a big reason for my trouble was MILK! Sometimes my sinuses stuff up after drinking orange juice, but I drink it anyway. Hope this helps someone.

Sister -- did you have stomach upset while you were drinking milk? I have been having sinus symptoms -- post nasal drip, head congestion for the past year and 1/2 with no stomach upset. I stopped milk products for 2 weeks, but didn't see much difference. I'm wondering if I have some low-grade infection doctors can't see on a CT scan.
Hope all is well.

I have been stopped up for 5 weeks. Been on antibiotics for 3 weeks. Now supposed to go 1/3 to ear nose, throat doctor. Also have nasal spray. Nothing works!

Have you consulted a naturopathic physician? Often food is the culprit. Citrus could also be causing problems and antibiotics do take away the natural good bacteria in your system.
You can find someone in your area. I have been battling headaches and sinus problems for the past 16 years and after a food elimination diet, found out that apples, wheat and dairy were the culprits. Go figure! Good luck!

To gengrrl: My experience with antibiotics is that amoxicillan doesn't work on me anymore. But Augmentin does, as does Cipro. Tiger Balm on your face and in your nostrils helps, but it BURNS!
I've also wondered if buying an air-purifier to run while I sleep would help. I guess all we can do is try everything and ask a good allergist what to try. Sometimes when my life is boring, and I don't get much excercise, my sinuses are worse. I wish I had a perfect answer for you (and for me!) Sinus trouble is one of the most common medical problems, along with headaches and backaches - we are not alone. Good luck to you. Sister.
