View Full Version : Antihistimies suck!

Hi guys,
I'm still in allergy hell! I feel like I have a cold each and every day of my ding dang life! Head stuffed up, dizzy, and sick!
I have been through the gammet of treatments, shots, every medication there is. Now I'm on Rhinocort and AllerX (the same stuff that's in chlortrimiton). I've been taking this combo for about 2 months now and the AllerX (an antihistimine) is making me feel worse.
I can only take it at night, and I wake up feeling so groggy and dizzy every morning. It's a 24/7 feeling!
Just wondering if anyone else has this problem with antihistimines. Seems like most people have no problems with chlortrimiton and other antihistimines. Just wondering if I'm alone.
I'm not a big person, 5 foot 6 115 lbs., so my allergist says that I might not be able to tolerate it because most medications are for the average 160 lb. person.
I don't know, but it sucks!!!!

I have had problems with allergies for years too and I can understand what you are going through. As far as prescriptions I really liked Zyrtec it worked great but is expensive. Did you read my post on nettles and grape seed extract for allergies? This stuff works great.

Hi, I tried Zyrtec a while ago and it didn't do a thing for me. I will try the grapeseed and stinging nettles next. How many milligrams?

Hi Iceprincess777

I have the same problem as you with the antihistimes, they completely knock me out. I took them one day, and I could not stay awake and I felt gross all day long. I don't have much luck with medication, I think I am medication sensitive.

Antihistimines saved my life - Specifically Chlorotrimeton.

I knew a guy that would miss work because of his alleries. I recommended to him to drink a cup of Mullein tea at night. The next day he came to work,
he said look at my eyes, I said what is it I'm looking for? He said I don't remember ever seeing the whites in my eyes before now. Also his breathing was better.
Also helpful herbs: Horehound, Coltsfoot, Nettles, Catnip, Elecampane Rt, Fenugreek Sd, Lobelia, Marshmallow Rt, Thyme.
