I don't wear glasses or contacts. I have suffered from red-rimmed, bloodshot, itchy eyes for about 6 months. Non-medicated drops have not helped get rid of the redness. Has anyone else suffered from this? (indoor allergies, or??) WHat are the causes? Also, what helps dissipate the redness?

Definitely sounds like there's something around you you're allergic to! Dust? Pet dander? I stay on Zyrtec and keep my house as dust-free as possible. And I wash my hands all the time and try not to touch my eyes. Vaccum my matress often, wash all bedclothes and curtains at least every two weeks. I do the itchy red eye thing in reaction to dust, so if that's your problem doing those things (or better yet...getting someone else to do them for you!) should help http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif G'Luck to ya!

Try some Mullein Tea, capsules, or/and extract.

What helps me more than anything is constant flushing my eyes during the day with artificial tears--the kind without preservatives. Goggles are very helpful during summer mowing. I use a vac with a HEPA filter. I have removed the carpet and vac everything--a lot. Some things that a lot of people don't think about is hair products, eye makeup and perfumes. Whatever you do--do not itch and rub your eyes as it will only make it worse. (I know it sounds impossible, but keep the tears in them and it will really help) Also the eye doc can prescribe some drops with antihistimines.
