Just wondering if anyone has ever had BPD mixed with the fear of abuse of in-house treatment? My fears are founded and real(Attorney General interview, etc.)...it happened. I want the treatment, but I don't think I could handle any more abuse. Dr. S and Dr. Julia understand and assure me that it won't happen there, but I'm still scared. It's so hard to trust anyone when you grew up knowing no safe places and people and when you go to a hospital for help and...well, it just SCARES THE HECK OUT OF ME!
Afterall, it's just for stablization purposes, right and it's not the same place I got hurt at...and then I can do DBT for a year and not have to live like this anymore!

I don't have answers for you but just wanted to say that I understand. I had abusive experiences in therapy and in the hospital. It was very difficult to go for help afterwards.

I am a person who has been abuse sexually by everyone including a therapist I have tons of fears heck I don't even sleep for the fear of it happening again but what I can tell you is that a life lived in fear is not a life worth liveing suck it up take a chance there are good people out there the trust issue is real you just have to look beyond the black and white thing. I also had fears of going inpatient. Now I am an expert. I've heen inpatient 7 times in Germany, 3 times in the States and once in England. My ideation was from "One Flew Over The Koo-Koo's Nest". My experience is totally opposite. I was in BKH Haar, teh largest psychuiatric hospital in Europe. It has a underserved reputation of medival handling of patients. This was simply not true. Horror stories get re-told, expanded interpreted until the truth is far from reality.
What I have found to be true is treat the staff with respect and for God's sake, don't act out or hit one of tehm. Then it can get pretty nasty.
Otherwise, think of it as a hotel (you can't leave) with three hot meals and usually a nice view.
