Hi,
About 4 nites ago I woke up at 3:30am covered in a very spotty rash and with a very swollen lumpy face. I went to Dr who thought I was having an allergic reaction to food (I have never had reaction to food before and allergic reactions in the past have always involved hives, not rash). Only thing I had eaten different day before was vegie burger from fast food restaurant. I checked the ingredients and it had food additive E635 in it. I looked on net and found a couple sites which said this additive can cause bad rash and breathing difficulties. It's now a few days later and I still feel lousy (I'm on antihistamines and steroids). I was hoping someone might know something about this sort of reaction. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks, Naomi

Hi,
I hope that by now you are feeling a whole lot better?
This sounds just like a normal allergic reaction that you might suffer. However, I think that it is more likely that anyone may be allergic to E additives as they are so noxious. A lot of kids who drink soda and eat too many potato chips can suffer from ADD and become quite aggressive. If their diet is then modified their symptoms improve in a lot of cases, but not all.
E additives are bad for you, so try and stay away from them.
Take care

Thanks for your reply.
I am recovering, though I've had 2 relatively minor allergic reactions since. I go to allergist on 15/2 and hopefully they'll be able to pinpoint what i'm allergic too.
