Hi everyone,

Please forgive me........I have more questions. I talked to my neurosurgeon and he said he will do a discectomy and possibly a laminotomy. He said he will not do fusion. He will let the space remain open and allow scar tissue to grow in place of the discectomy.

So.......has anyone ever had that done? Any pros and cons?

Has anyone ever had a Cervical Endoscopy Discectomy? I've been reading about the endoscopy method. It seems to be much less invasive. How would I go about finding a doctor that does this in my area short of searching name by name through the yellow pages?

Thanks so much! ;)

I had surgery in Feb. without a fusion. It was done at level C5-6. My neurosurgeon said he prefers no fusion, unless there is arthritis, etc. He said that alot of times when you have a fusion you end up having to have surgery again! Well, I don't know which is better. I am seeing a new neurologist who told me that I have Degeneration and arthritis. I lost the bad pain in my arm and shoulder, but I am left with other problems that sometimes seem worse! I wish I was able to help you more, but I really don't know myself which way is the best! I wish you all the best!
