CMV: cytomeglovirus: because an infected woman may be asymptomanic.
All pregnant women should be tested for CMV because it may cause an abortion.

By the time you reach adulthood, most people have had CMV without actually knowing it - it's just like having a bad cold.
Immunocompromised patients should be tested for it as it is more serious if they become infected - as well as pregnant women, although where I am, testing for it is not a routine antenatal test.
For most people it is nothing to worry about ;)
