I did some research here a while back and then did a search online about Suboxone to find a doctor in my area.
If you have problems, then go check it out ASAP. It's the best thing ever made for people with addiction problems.
I was taking 7-10 Hydro's 7.5 a day and I am only taking 4 2mg Suboxone a day now. I started on it yesterday... over 24 hours with NO WD's!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel so much better now :) :)
The only bad thing, it tastes terrible!

it blocks the effects of w/d's since it is an opiate also...it handles all opiate addiction, but realize you must not abuse it and also w/d's will come at the end of your therapy unless you wean very slow from the medication....chef

I have been on suboxone, heck I'd have to check my first post, GREAT stuff. If you can get past the WD of Narcotics without the depression great just stay away from them. I went 3 years and the depression never went away. When I went on Meth the depression went away but not the slow sometime tired feeling, But to add to the story, I went 3 weeks ago to have my CPAP updated, Dr. took me out of work on Oct 08, still out too. I have been diagnosed with Narcolepsy, after 2 sleep studies I now take Provigil, Suboxone gave me energy, and now I can stay awake all day. No more falling asleep while driving. Have 1 more study and it will be a breeze and I can go back to work, Which happens to be on my birthday, perfect timing.
Subutex and Suboxone for long term accicted mat be your only route to freedom.
Doctors are hard to find, and can only have 30 patients per month. End the rat race and start living again.

My health insurance will not cover suboxone. I found a sub doctor that was listed in the plan provider directory, but they told me he is only covered by the HMO as a primary doc - they will not cover his sub services. So does anyone know about how much the program costs without insurance? I am currently trying to taper off hydro and am down to about 2 10mg pills a day but am having major problems with the lethargy and tiredness. I would like to try sub but am afraid of the cost. I am in NJ - if anyone has any idea of the cost, please let me know. Thanks.
I'm on my 5th day of being Hydrocodone free! It's wonderful! :) :)

Depends on how bad your habbit is, Heroin is the most inconsistent drug on the street.
Ex. If you have a problem with chronic relapse you might use while on suboxone. The first time you use while on subox you might feel hardly anything and try more leading to an accidental overdose. Ive used diamorphine while on 12mg of subox and it made it right past the blood brain barrier that's why I had to go back on methadone. I think suboxone is more for people with hydro-oxy-codiene addictions.
How bad is your habbit?

Will your HMO let you switch your primary doc's? He may be willing to treat you with sub therapy even if he is your primary doc.
Also, sometimes its good becuase there are states out there where methadone is not available for addiction treatment.

right now it is very hard to find a subox doctor because they need a certification.
