Hey everyone,
For several months I have had IBS with constipation. Nothing worked including, Miralax, Zelnorm, etc etc. I would have to get colonics done weekly to get rid of the constipation but after a few days, my symptoms would start up again..not going to the bathroom and extream bloating even from liquids. I got this tea called 'Get Regular Tea' from 'Yogi Tea' and it has worked miracles! Ever since I used it I am never constipated and my prescription zelnorm works. (I use to take 3 Zelnorm and no results!) I take the tea before I go to bed and when I wake up I go. It takes about 6 hours every time. I am now a true believer of natural remedies and think that the ingredients in the tea are what does the trick..senna leaf, peppermint, licorice and others.
You can get this kind of tea at a health food store or Whole Foods market!

Hey there, my mom is on the same medications as you are, but a lot of the time she'll be so constipated that she throws up because she can't hold any more food in her system they have done tons of colonosopies can't spell, and she just went ot get a checkup shes been using mirliax for a while now but nothign seems to be working, i have ibs also, i was diagnosed at a young age and im only 18 im starting to get the same symptons as my mom, so this tea really works? she loves tea and im trying everything to figure out if it will work or not.. it would be awsome!!! is there any more info you can give me on the tea? id appreciate it thanx!! i hope things stay good for you!!

If you have constipation and cannot go..I HIGHLY suggest a natural herbal tea like the one above.
Go to a store like Better Nutrition, Trader Joes, or Whole Foods (usually a health food store or an organic store) and look at their teas. They are called different names like 'get Regular Tea' or 'Smooth Move' tea. The one brand I have is a brand called Yogi tea. You are looking for ingredients such a senna, peppermint, etc. I heard some teas work and some don't. This one does! Slight cramping but not too bad.
Or better yet, look at [removed] I just found the website! wb and let me know what you found

When I was pregnant and constipated( I am always, but worse while pregnant), the obgyn told me to use Smooth Move tea. I was using it and I was going. That was 3 years ago...I may go back to using it again. I just can't stand it anymore. Stool hard as a rock! :eek:

Where can I get this mircale tea???? Im interested, sometimes I go to bed with that yucky feeling and wake up and I don't well y'kno til 4, I havn't tried medication yet, i'm set to start zelnorm tonight...

I took miralax and then zelnorm neither worked than my Dr told me to take them both and it works great, but I may try the tea. Thanks

I too, have taken Miralax and Zelnorm. Neither of them have worked for me. I see that you said when you take them together you see results. I have yet to take them together. I guess I should give it a try! THanks for the post =)

This is the best thing for IBS constipation. Like I said I took every presription and took bottles of laxatives and nothing worked...even colon hydrotherapy. This works like a dream. I don't look pregnant anymore because of bloat and i feel great once again!

If you are constipated and need a laxative.......I'd definitely recommend a senna product. I have IBS-C and use a senna product 9 months out of the year with my doctors consent. My doctor told me that the Chinese use senna from the time that they are very young til the time that they are old with no problems.
I say that I use a senna product 9 months out of the year because I live in Venezuela most of the time and I am in the U.S. for 3 months of the year. The three months of the year that I am in the states, I can control my constipation easily with eating a bowl of Fiber One every morning. However, I bring the same Fiber One to Venezuela and it will not work on me here. I told my doctor that it must have to do something with the trace minerals in the water. The same thing happened to my son when he was young. Constipated here in Venezuela...and not in the U.S. His problem eventually worked itself out....mine never has.
So, even tho I use senna 9 months out of the year......I can easily go onto the bran and my system will start working........and my colon does not become lazy on the senna.
Take it from me........use the senna no matter what anyone else on this board tells you. It is better to use the senna and protect yourself from getting hemmoroids, rectal prolapse, and a stretched out colon from straining..... I know......it has happened to me!!!
I do recommend that you take your senna at night before going to bed.....it seems to cause a lot less cramping than if you take it during the day. I no longer get any cramping at all.
