Hi Cut-Throat, I just want to ask you since you are taking Chlor-Trimeton for your allergy. What if you do not have any sneezing or sore throat just dizziness with fullness in the ears and crackling sounds whenever you swallow does Chlor-Trimeton help.

Also one more question is Chlor-Trimeton similar to Claritin and Zyrtec? Have you tried Claritin and Zyrtec before.

Thanks.

Hi Waldo,

Chlorotrimeton is not similar to the new meds. The newer meds do not make you tired. As my allergist explained it to me they do not have a 'brain' component in them - This is the component that gives me the relief.

I have tried the other meds like clariton, allegra, and zrytec - but none of them gave me any relief.

The only way that you'll know if a med works for you is to try it. It's over the counter, safe and harmless.

I also have a pollen allergy in the spring and c-trimeton works to alieve that also. The sneezing, itching, etc...

Best Regards

Hi agian Cut-Throat, I just tried to check witht the Pharmacy for C-Trimeton but I think this is a brand name so they have a brand called Telamin which eacth table contains Chlorpheniramine Melate 4mg. The pharmacy says that this is same as C-Trimeton. I just want to ask you if this is the same thing. Thanks alot.

Yup same thing. That is the generic name, actually what I take, because it is much cheaper. I take 2 - 12mg. tablets daily.

Hi Cut-Throat,

I have been taking 3 tablets 4mg of Chlorpheniramine at nights before bed since the last 10 days but still feel a bit dizzy and light headed. How long did it take you to for the dizziness to go away. I treid to get the 12mg capsule but its not available in my country. Even though I just take it at nights and have a good night sleep, I still feel sleepy during the day but I can manage this as long as I dont feel dizzy.

I used to take some tranqulizer Tranxene 5mg and Serc 8mg twice a day.

If it was going to work, you should have felt better within the 10 days. -

Although, I take 2 - 12 mg pills a day. YOu could try it in the morning and the evening for a few days and see if you get any relief. - If not, you'll have to keep searching for some answers. - Good Luck!
