I wasn't sure what board to post this to - but has anyone had a CT scan on sinuses - if so how is it done?

I had a CT scan done in Boston. It is basically a machine that you lie in and they take scans. After they did a few scans, they injected some die in my arm so they could get a better view. Doesn't hurt at all, but may be a little scary if you are claustrophobic. I just keep my eyes closed.
Hope this helps.

Hi, I had a CT scan done a few months ago for my sinuses. I am a very claustrophobic person, and I had no problems with it at all. It was painless, and nothing to lose sleep over. Don't worry. :-)

CT scan here too. No big deal really..just an xray. Gets lots of angles so you can get a clearer picture of your sinuses.

the person who posted about being injected - that's a different type of ct scan. I've had two done on the sinuses, one with the injection and one without.
The one with isn't that bad - it's to show contrast in your head.
You lay down on a table and there is this HUGE circle over your head. Sometimes they tell you don't breathe or don't swallow for a minute until they take the picture.
This is different than an MRI where you're in a box and enclosed.
The ct scan is wide open, lasts a few minutes and is painless. :)
Christine.
