Hi there!
Vaginal discharges often are whitish in color, filmy, and contain dead cells that may float on the surface when you use the toilet. I had the same thing happen to me after getting a bacterial infection, the discharge was more watery and made the dead cells appear like a film on the surface of the water... but I would highly recommend finding that OB/GYN - they should be able to put symptoms together and make more sense of it.
Try this link to, it has some good info on other female problems...
