I am doing pretty well! Throat a tad sore but I have been eating pretty much anything I want........... :p

I am off of the percocets and on Norco, a Dbl dose of vicodin w/ single Acetamin.(10/325) I went until 11 Am today before taking one.

Other then my being airlifted back to hospital for 2 more nights the pain was less then I thought it would be. If the pain had been better managed immediately post op, I would be extremely happy!

The $9,000 Helicopter bill came today.................the workmen's comp company is already trying to bail. Mmmm oh well. Nice to be here!

I am in a Miami J collar for 2 more weeks, then 2 weeks PT.
Getting better each day!

:jester: Yeah more good news DYLAN. :bouncing:

You are right to assess your outcome that way.. that is you would have had a perfect story if the hospital/dr. had elicited the proper pain meds.

Anyway I am so happy for you.

I have till Monday and its my turn and its seems really strange its actually going to happen after all the stops and starts because of the symptoms changing and the other dr. calling it off.

So knowing I have been waiting and for a specific reason makes me realize I just have to do this like the rest of you.

I had to purchase anti clotting stockings (not as beautiful as fishnets eh girls) and I have sat around a bit with my collar but that is so uncomfortable with the way my neck is currently I think I'll do the drug thing and live like a dopehead if I need to... grew up on stiff upper lip mentality and that MAY NOT BE THE CASE.

ANYWAY, HURRAH HURRAH YOU"RE ON YOUR WAY TO A BETTER BRIGHTER BEAUTIFUL DAY WHERE YOU WON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO TYPE ON THIS SUBJECT.

Dylan -

Glad to hear you are doing so much better! I can't imagine the hospital not giving you the pain meds you needed. I just had my fusion yesterday and I am feeling great! I had a fusion in 1997 and I wasn't doing so well at this point in time - of course, last time I had hip bone taken out - this time I used bank bone. The pain in my neck, shoulder and arm are gone, replaced by a much more tolerable pain - mostly in my throat. After doc took the drain tube out this morning it was a lot more tolerable. I really can't believe how well I am doing - I'm stoked. :-)

Good luck to you, too, Nero, on Monday! I'll be thinking about you.

Donna

Good news again .... Hi DonnaKay

Glad to hear your experience so good so far.

I am ancy but trying to just get things in order before Monday a.m. This afternoon I think will be my last meal till the surgery as my stomach started flippping around at the hairdressers this morning and I got the feeling I just wanted to go home. BUT it subsided and I talked myself out of the anxiety.

I am a little stressed about three months of wearing a neck collar. Someone stated its mainly for the neck to heal i.e. muscles as vertebrae is stabilized really by plate and bone fusion.

Anyway why wrestle with that problem till I am there.

Thanks for the words of inspiration.

It will be nice to type on my laptop without my neck seizing up in my post op life .. eventually.

I'm sure I'll vent before Monday ...see ya NERO
