My mum recently fractures bones c1 and c2 in a car accident. The 'ring' bone (not sure if this is c1 or c2) is fractured in 2 places. The bone isn't healing - with the collar she has been wearing for the last 14 weeks. She has been told she needs surgury - can anybody give me info on how serious this surgury is and any other relevant info relating to this.
