OK...I have always pretty much been a calm and laid back person....UNTIL I married my husband that is a very impatient guy. I am very, very patient with my 19 mo old daughter, and with people at my work (handicapped) but, let me go to the mall, or any kind of store, and that all changes. People with their carts in the middle of the isle, I say "excuse me" they don't move. I go around. People bump into me and give ME a nasty look. OH NO! THAT really makes me made. I 95% of the time never say anything to them, but it really P***es me off! People now a days are just plain rude, and it is very upsetting. I just get p***ed at the smallest things. My best friend recommended I get on medication. My husband thinks that is B.S, because I am not the one with the problem, it is other people that are just being nasty. Any suggestions? This is really bothering me. I want to be calm and laid back again!!

I think people are more rude, more stressed,
more mad than ever before because NOTHING
is "laid-back" anymore. This twisted world is
just go-go-go & everyone is only out for
themselves period. It really sucks!
Esp if your husband is impatient, perhaps
he's a big part of the prob. Guys are like that
alot.

HI
You probably put forth so much patience in other areas that such as your job or your family that you just have none left when it comes to any thing else. that is understandable.
You can't control others but you can control your reaction to them. Easier said then done. Make sure you are getting enough time for yourself since you are giving so much of yourself everyday.
I agree that people are more rude then ever. Everyone is stressed to the max. I work with 4 year olds and they are very rude and don't respect authority or each other. Even the kids are feeling it.
Don't add to the scowling faces. Try to find the humor in it all and see things from a larger perspective and not take it all so personally. I personally stay out of malls and stores as much as possible.
Good luck

Especially this time of year everyone seems to be a bit more on edge. Holidays can be stressful, which is kinda amusing since it should really be a more enjoyable time of year. Sometimes I think ya gotta just take a step back and take a deep breath and realize the stress just isnt worth it.

I will try to keep my smiling face, but it is so hard when people just have no respect for anything these days. Glad to hear that nobody thinks I need to be on medications for this. (sigh) I will try to stay out of the malls too! hehe..Thanks for all of the advice. Happy Holidays!

Laura79,
Somewhere, somehow most people believe "medication" is the answer. NO! NO!
If medication is the answer why don't leaders/mankind get a medication to stop war and suffering.
Laura, keep on going and as time goes by the rudeness will become like water on a duck's back to you.
Happy Holidays to one and all.
