My neck is very itchy. On each side of my neck i have dark patches and it's very itchy. The inside of my elbows had smaller patches that have healed but months ago were itchy. My doctor said possible allergies. He wasn't very clear. He said my Thyroid was enlarged, ran a test and the test results are normal.

The itching comes in bouts all over, but it primarily on the sides of my neck. I'm not sure if i should go to a Dermatologist or a Endocrinologist or an Allergy Center. My blood has been tested. They can't find anything wrong with my blood.

I just finished all of my Allergra and Fluonase. I went to an herbal shop and purchased Alpha Lipoic Acid plus Rosemary.

Why is this so hard to diagnose?

:(

Could it be eczema (atopic dermatits)? Is the skin area dry? The reason I ask is because all these places you have described are prime eczema places...

I use to have a persistant skin rash that flared up on the stomach, elbow, & knees for 10 years. I was precribed all kinds of ointments, & they would help but never could get rid of it. Now I have found the answer. I no longer have this rash. I nasal irrigate and life is good. Once the allergens are out of your nose your immune system stops freaking out.
