I'm in a bit of a problem, and thought I'd write to see if anyone had any advice, or answers for me. Recently I took Clomid 100mg and an HGC shot to bring on O, but it didn't work. So, my RE gave me prometrium for 10 days to bring on AF. I finished that a week ago Saturday. My RE said to expect AF 7-10 days after my last pill. Still no AF and no signs that it's coming. My RE wants me to see him on day 5 of my cycle (once it starts) to start FSH shots since the Clomid doesn't seem to be working.

My problem and question is...I beleive he wants me to have six injections on days 6-12 of my cycle to promote follicle growth, then, I think I have to go back for a shot of HGC to release any follies I might have. Does this sound right to anyone? My main concern is, that if AF doesn't come today or tomorrow, I'm looking at the week of Thanksgiving for my re-visit for the HGC shot, and I'm supposed to be out of town that entire week. My family, who I'll be visiting, doesn't know that my Dh and I are ttc. AAGGHH! Any advice as to what I should do? Thanks so much! :D

I feel your pain! I did injectables ttc#1 and now I'm doing them again ttc#2!

All doctor's protocol is different when it comes to injections - for example, after taking provera to bring on my AF - I start injections on cd 3 of my period - my track record has been taking one shot of 150 amps of Perganol for 6 days, then 75 amps for day 7 & 8, then HCG trigger shot then bding for 2-3 days.

If you get your period 10 days after stopping the Provera, you should be getting it around the 13 or 14th of Nov. Then your doc wants you to take injections cd6-12 which would be around the 19 thru 25th right? (hypothetically, that is)... then I would think your doctor would want to see you SOMETIME in that week to check your follicles with bloodwork and u/s. HOWEVER, if you are not going to be gone the whole week, but only over the long holiday weekend, you can have your husband give you the HCG shot - you don't have to go to the doctors to have that. And it won't matter if you're home or not since you can travel with you "stuff" you need to do injections.

IF that week is not a good week because of all the monitoring, and you'll be out of town for the entire week, then unfortunately my suggestion is to skip the month of November for ttc and wait until December rolls around. I know that stinks - but if you have no other option... Hang in there!

Thanks Andrea! I have a history of not ever having AF without medication. I was on the pill for MANY years just to keep regular. I'm hoping that since my cycle, even after AF is VERY long, he'll let me wait to come in that week after Thanksgiving and then start the injections. That might just be wishful thinking! Who knows? Good luck to you and thanks for the response!
