hey everyone
I've been severely allergic to ragweed (also known as hay fever) for 3 years now, and until this year suffered through every fall with extreme nasal congestion, watery eyes, you know, the works. This year, i got into a ruitine and with some medication it seems to take away almost all of the nasal congestion, which was the worst for me. so, the ruitine is as follows:
I get up and run a mile first thing in the morning(this helps to loosen up nasal congestion)
next, as soon as i get home, while my congestion is still gone, i take a glass of warm salty water and sniff it up my nose (i know, gross, but this cleans out the pollen that's causing the irritation)
then, i take a dose of pseudoephedrine decongestant (in most over the counter nasal decongestants)
by doctor's reccomendation, i take 500 mg vitamin C every hour to build up the immune system, but this i imagine doesnt make too much of a difference as far as relief goes
then, throughout the day, i make sure not to eat any dairy as this causes mucas buildup
around lunch time, another more pseudoephedrine
before i go to bed, more salt water, and that's it.
this has done a whole lot for me, and i think it's worth a try for anyone with ragweed allergies!
peace,
matt
