View Full Version : Allergies Or What?

This time last year I came down with what I thought was hay fever. I had just moved to a farm the year before and was surrounded by grass, and allergies run in my family, so when my nose started running when I went outside, the cause seemed pretty obvious.
Aparently not though. In addition to the running nose and stuffed up head I started getting really tired when I'd been outside. Then my hands started hurting, to the point that I couldn't even turn a doorknob. I stayed indoors, and I was fine.
I went to an allergist and got allergy tested, nothing. Nothing!
Fast forward to the present. I just moved to a different state, none of the same grasses. Two days ago I noticed my head was getting really stuffed up, ears hurting, etc. Then yesterday my hands started hurting again. Soon my whole body hurt, and it's only gotten worse since then. It's not a sharp pain sort of hurting. It's aching in the joints, just like you get with flu.
Anyone have any ideas what's causing this?
Thanks!

Hi,

Sounds like this could be some kind of auto-immune reaction that was brought about by your initial allergic reaction. Sort of like an oversensitivity to the allergen since exposure. Remember that living and working on a farm brings you into contact with fungal spores too, that can cause you problems.

If I were you, I would go and see a doc and get blood tests done to check out what is going on. It could just be flu as you say, but the two incidents seem co-incidental not to be linked in some way.

Good luck
