I was recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, but for about 2 years have been suffering with it. The last two months have been UNBEARABLE!! Im constantly in pain, my doc switched my meds to the Duragesic patch 25 mcg. Norco 1/325 fot BT pain, levapro, and baclofen, but with all combined, still on a pain scale of 6 and without the meds , pain scale of 10+ , what im wondering is for any of you fibro veterans, what do you do to help the pain? What works best, i have tried EVERYTHING, way too many things to list, both OTC and prescription, I think if the pain dropped down to a 3 or 4 I could handle it, but I just can't handle this. Ive tried massage, acupuncture, yoga, chiropractic, nothing is working. Im desperate is this what I have to expect for the long haul is pain everyday of my life? Please give suggestions Im open to anything.

Thanks

Hi,

Take a head look at your diet. Before I changed my diet, the pain was at a constant 10. I do still have flares that are horrid but nothing like what I had before changing my diet.

I also control the pain by exericising. Walking everday and strength training 3X weekly. I do this because I also have RSD. When a person has RSD they must exercise or lose the use of the limb.

Also sometimes meds can make the pain worse.

I know it took my 3 years to find the right combo that works for me. I only take Baclofen, 1 flexeril at night and Wellbutrin SR for depression. I also take the tylenol 3 only when I need to. For me the less drugs the better.

I soak everyday in a warm tub with epson salts.

Hugs Destiny

For over 2 years, I have had 3 heating pads on my bed. When I hurt too much, I am also then feeling fatigued, I lay on my bed with my heating pads. I don't know what I'd do without them. We can only take one day at a time. It is very hard to accept at times. This site continues to give me info, but most of all, SUPPORT! We all understand each other and what we are going through. Kathy
