[COLOR=Purple]Hello everone, :yawn:
I don't know if anyone femembers me but I wront before about my sleeping problem. I thought I would write agian, because my problem has only gotton worse, and I wanted to see if i could get any help or responce for anyone with the same tipe of problem.
Ok well here it goes. Im 19 and as i stated before my problem is when I lay down to go to sleep. Well it's like i never get tired, so i forse myself to lay down, around whatever time is somewhat approate for me to sleep depending on what time I have to get up in the mornig. ( does that make sence?) oh well. Anyways I just got a new job a week ago, and part of my proble is if i have to get up early for something inportant then i can not fall asleep at all.Before i started this job I could lay down finally fall asleep around 3 or 4 am and stat asleep intill I get anywhere from 8 to 10 hours of sleep. So my problem before was just getting to sleep. But now it has gotton worse. For work i have to me up at 7 30 am. Ok so i lay down around 12 to try and sleep. I read and watch the tv on mute for hours till like 4. im not even tired when i lay down its almost like i get more energy. dont drink soda or caffene 4 urs to bed and i dont eat before i go to bed so i know its not that. ok so around 2 or so i might feel like im going to go to sleep like im so close then all the sudded i jump and my heart beats faster and im awake.then my brain is going crazy thinking about all my problems and my life and everything...im just like wide awake.then once i do finally find asleep i wake up every hour (atleast) and to every noise.[QUOTE][IMG]its just sooo stressfull i feel so crapy during work. and the crazy thing is when i get off work i could lay down and take a nap im sooo tired, but i tell myself notto so iwill be just that much more tired around bedtime....bt it doesent work. i cant get out of this cycle. i even got to the point one night that i took one of my moms ambiams(SP) but it didnt work i was still tired.i dont know whats wrong w/ me im so fed up w/ this problem i just cant stand it anymore.its soo hard to function in life w/ so little sleep. ok well theres my problem please respond :yawn: on what u think i should do and on some advise. Thanks all JESSICA :wave: :angel:

Same for me, and it leads to much anxiety about sleeping which makes it worse. I've never tried Ambien, but I use a very small dose of Remeron when I am having trouble sleeping. It works well and knowing I have it if I need it has helped reduce the anxiety. Have you talked to a doctor about this?

If you can sleep for 8-10 hours on your old schedule, then it's probably that you are off on your "sleep cycle" clock; I've heard alot of people have this and there is some technique of straightening it out that sleep specialists use that doesn't involve drugs (which can eventually screw up sleep even more).
Maybe you could go to a specialist who can help you straighten out your sleep clock.....Circadian clock is the correct term I believe.

i have the same problem, i don't get sleepy at all. i can't even take a nap during the day or after thanksgiving dinner.
i took melatonin and that helped me get a refreshing nights sleep for a few months, but it's not working anymore. now i take a melatonin and an ambien.
that jumpiness at night is referred to as hyper-vigilance and is anxiety related. you may want to see a psych.
hope this helps.

You have what is called "delayed sleep phase pattern syndrome" and is typical of people our age. There are several things you could try. One would be to slide your circadian clock back into rhythm through the use of medicines, or without the use of medicines. With the use of medicines, you would take a small dosage of a pill (I'd recommend Ambien) about 11 p.m. at night, and you would wake up at 7 or so. Without using medicines, you do the following: slowly slide your sleep patter forward from 4 a.m. (for example) and get up at noon, so the next night you will go to bed at 3:45, and get up at 11:45 minutes earlier, then go to bed at 3:30, and get up at 11:30, and so on, and within a few weeks, you'll be on an 11 to 7 schedule. This method works very well. If you need something more forceful and quick, the trick is FORCING yourself to get up at the SAME TIME EVERY DAY (NO EXCEPTIONS). use caffeine in the morning and not in the afternoon. so, you'd force yourself to get up at say, 7 a.m., then you MUST stay awake all day, then you will go to bed at a much better time since you will no doubt be tired. do this for 7 days in a row--longer if possible, and your circadian clock will have reset. good luck! Hey all,
Its been a wile.. so I thought I would update you..
First I would like to say Thank You to everyone for your advice and help... Alot really helped.
What helped me the most. was forcing myself to get up at a certin time everyday..and slowly make that time earler and earley...well I kind of had to..because i had to be at work at 10..so i was getting up anwhere between 8 and 8:30.
Im still not where i want to be but i'm sooo much better
I lay down around 12 and am asleep by atleast 1;00 or 1:30..I sleep the whole night ( most of the time ) and wake up feeling so much better
The first couple of weeks of my new job were ruff, not being able to get much sleep...i resorted to taking nigteguel everynight..i sometimes still do when i have alot on my mine, but for the most part i'm falling asleep on me own!!! :bouncing:
Thanks agian everyone for your help and support :wave:
Good luck too everyone
