Hi:
This morning I've found that I have a red rash area on my testicles/penis. It's itching and feels a bit slimy.
I was with a girl who said she had and treated clymidia a few years ago (about two weeks ago) - My condom broke when I was with her, so I was bare for a moment.
The area is red and smooth...not any lumps, scabs or blisters that I can tell.
In addition, I seem to have blood in my stool. I do often go to the bathroom and probably strain a bunch- I eat quite a bit of spicy foods too (as of the past couple of days).
What might this sound like to you? Chlamydia- herpes, nothing...?
Thanks!

Get thee to a doctor asap! It could be many things...a yeast infection, herpes, an allergic reaction...you won't know until a doctor looks at it. I don't think blood in the stool would be related to any STD's, unless maybe it is herpes, and it irritated your anus, causing a tear...

Now she told me that she had Chlamydia and was completely cured. Of course she could have been carrying something else- who knows. I am interested in knowing if a red rash on the testicles and a bit on the shaft would be indicative of Chlamydia or a more general type of Herpes.
I don't see a rash listed on the Chlamydia symptoms lists. A few articles mention a red rash for general herpes- but most usually list open 'sores' rather than a 'rash'.
I have an appointment for the day after tomorrow.
Also, is it true that Chlamydia can be completely cured?
Thanks Again-

One more thing. I was using new condoms with spermicidal lubricant...I hadn't ever used them before- the rash appeared a day or so after using the condoms. Could this be a potential cause?

chlamydia can be completely cured. As well as Gonnorhea. Syphillis is 100% curable if caught early enough. HIV, HSV, Hepatitis iarent curable.
Low risk HPV (read visible warts) is believed to be innoculated from your body by the immune system after 10-36 months from last outbreak. High risk (cancer causing) is usually more persistent. Molluscum Contagiousum is cured by your body.
If you have chlamydia or gonnorhea, you have to take a prescription of pills to kill the virus. Maybe she didnt finish hers

What's up man. She told me this was about 4 years ago and that she went through several tests to make sure it was completely gone. But who knows.
Quick question: Would she be experiencing any of these symptoms at any time. For example, if she had herpes- could she carry it without any symptoms anytime...and just pass it off to me. Will she evenutally develop symptoms- or would she just live her whole life unaffected by it?

Hi Madcat, unfortunately, herpes affects different people differently. I have herpes, and my outbreaks consist of just irritated red rash-looking skin. I don't get open sores, and many people don't. It is also possible for someone to carry herpes, NEVER have outbreaks or any symptoms, and pass it to other people. In fact, it is estimated that only about 25% of people infected with herpes know that they have it.....75% don't know because they either never get any symptoms at all, or get such mild symptoms that they shrug it off as yeast infections, jock itch, razor burn, etc. Clamydia is completely curable with antibiotics, but of course, like was pointed out, she could have caught something since then. It is also possible that what you have is an allergic reaction. I myself an allergic to spermacide. You really should see a doctor for a proper diagnosies though. :)

Devastated,
How long did you have these rash-like symptoms before you found out? What are your outbreaks like now? How far in between? Is it just reddish skin and itchiness?
I am a guy, so it would be difficult to compare symptoms to yours, but I have been concerned for awhile now that I have this... I only have itchiness, occassional marks/rashes that appear to be zits or razor burn, and now a pain slight pain in my hamstring. The itching sensation I have also comes and goes like every other week... do outbreaks occur that soon after one another? I mean this has been going on for a few weeks now. I appreciate your response.

Just got back from the doctor. I was told that this was not herpes...but have been tested anyway.
All I've had was a red itchy rash. She labeled it as a yeast infection.
Claimed that herpes was a bit more painful and not itchy.
Get tested for it anyway...you never know.

Hi, well, I experienced my first outbreak about 4 days after having oral sex performed on my by my boyfriend (I have genital HSV1, caught from my boyfriend's mouth). It started out as just kind of itchy, irritated skin...a rash of sorts. I never had the big, open sores like they show when you look at pics of herpes on the net. My first outbreak was very painful...it even hurt to walk. My subsequent outbreaks have consisted of just reddish, irritated skin. I have only had 2 further outbreaks (barely painful at all, more just annoying) in the past year since contracting it. I have studied herpes alot since getting it, and the major thing with herpes is that symptopms are soooo different in different people. Some people do get outbreaks very often. A lot of women get them every month, corresponding with a certin time in the menstral cycle. Some people get them once a year...and most people never get outbreaks, just carry it. Your symptoms could be many other things too though. Next time you get symptoms, call your doctor and make sure he sees you ASAP, because for a swab test for herpes (where they take a small sample from the area where symptoms are present) to be accurate, the test needs to be performed within 48 hours after the onset of symptoms. If you wait beyond this time, the test could give a false negative. Good luck, hopefully it will be something else. :)
