and for those of you who have a diagnosed thyroid deficiency, WHO prescribes your thyroid meds, psychiatrist or other doc???

HI there,
I am on Lithium 2x/day, paxil, and clonopin 3x/day. These are prescribed by my cowboy boot wearing shrink who moniters my depression meds. My Family doc perscribes my synthroid and moniters my levels on that and takes care of my allergies with allegra. If they need to, they can confer with one another should I experience any wierd symptoms and believe me I can come up with them, usually just hives. I was so allergic to Lexapro, I actually have a couple of scars from the hives. But we all knew I was special anyways!!...lol

When I was on lithium, I did have a thyroid problem and was put on a medicine...cant for the life of me remember the name of it, its on the tip of my tongue, I'll write back when I think of it.

Hi I started taking Lithium at the begining of the Summer. My pdoc. waited untill I had been on the med. for about two weeks before he had my levels tested. I belive your doc. should have waited for at least that amount of time because only the blood test reveals the amount of Synthroid you need. How was he to know without a blood test? He wasn't... he blows ... get a new pdoc or doc... (which everone it was)

Ps. Is there anyone out there that's on both Lithium and Lamictal? I just recently went up to 200mg about a week ago and anxious to feel results for the left over depression I'm going through.. Even though the Lithium helped tons I still have some left over, flat feeling, unhappy feelings.

I am on 950 mg lithium plus 150mcg synthroid lithium by pdoc synthroid my reg doc

Yes I believe I was at one time on both lithium and lamictal, fyi, Elizabeth. I'm not 100% sure. It may just have been barely at different times. But I think I was on them at the same time for a short while. But lithium didn't work for me so I'm off of it now.

I have been on lithium for years.It took awhile to figure out what dose was good for me. I take 600 mg one day and 900 the next.Its been really good for my depression and doesnt have any side effects for me.I have no clue what the other stuff is you guys mention.Can you explain?
