Whenever I run or cycle I get major cramps in my calf muscles which prevent me from running as far as I want.
I can only run for 5 minutes before the cramps begin. It is very frustrating.
I warm up heaps with stretching and walking yet I still get them. I am also reasonably fit.
Is there any supplement you can take to counteract cramps or sore muscles?
I have some magnesium so I took 1 today, will that help at all?
Maybe its a diet issue. What causes cramps apart from inadequate warming up?

I have had some trouble with calf cramps in the past, and I take calcuim and they go away. Potassium also works well (bananas).
