I am having major surgery to my right forefoot at 8am tomorrow morning. There will be multiple procedures performed that include a total of 6 osteotomies. OUCH!!! A lot of the surgical procedures are being done to repair things that went wrong with my previous bunion and hammertoe surgeries. In addition, I will have a Taylor's bunion (bunionette) removed. The bunionettes didn't start hurting until I started walking on the sides of my feet to avoid pain in other places. I really hope things go well this time so I can be done with foot problems once and for all. I could really use some prayers. I will give a progress report when I feel up to it sometime after surgery. Everyone - take care and keep on healing!

fairieswearboots,
Good luck. I had 3 osteotomies on Sept. 15-2 on the big toe and one on the bunionette. Mine are healing very well. My scars are almost invisible. My scar from failed bunion surgery two years ago is much more obvious. The hard part for me in the recovery was no weight on my foot for 8 weeks. I am slowly getting back to all of my activities. It seems like our feet have a lot in common. That is not a good thing! Keep us posted. Good luck and I'll be thinking of you.

Dear Fairies,
Good for you that you will be getting this over with! I have a feeling that it will go really well as you have put a great deal of time and effort into this next procedure. I hope I don't eat my words, but I have been doing really well and it is just 3 weeks post-op. Woke up w/a throbbing toe last night- hmmm. Maybe just tired of being so imobilized? First time its happened. Normal anyone?
Best of luck to you. Look forward to hearing from you soon!

Good luck Fairies! Let us all know how you are coming along. I hope this will correct all of the problems from the previous surgeries.

To Readabook,
During my recovery I have had many aches and pains that come and go. I try to use Advil to control any pain. I onlly tell the doctor about a severe pain that last say maybe a week or more. I thinkit takes a while for your feet to "settle" into place. How is that for an uneducated guess?
