I usually get about 5-6 sinus infections a year. When I take antibiotics they go away, but they keep coming back. I have tried about all the "mainstream" solutions: Nasal sprays, medicine (Allegra), allergy shots, surgery for deviated septum, etc. I want to try some alternative medicine, but there is just so much out there. Can anyone help guide me to any products/methods that work?

I have a question, do you smoke? Are you around smokers? I used to get terrible sinus infections, devasting, but because I stay out of smoke filled rooms, and away from smokers, I haven't had a case of it, for a few years now. I used to smoke, 15 yrs, then I quit about 35 yrs ago. When around smoke, my head fills up, like I have a terrible cold. So that's what I have done to stay away from it. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. In all my years, Sinus infection made me so ill, that I could care less if I died. It's a terrible thing. So I feel for you, and I'm holding my breath. Good luck to both of us.

I am going to suggest that you have some homeopathic treatment for your problems. The fact that you keep getting sinus infections, means that you have an underlying susceptibility to this and the acute flare ups that you have are exacerbations of your chronic tendency. Homeopathy can help treat this chronic tendency with a good constitutional treatment.

Basically, homeopathy treats you as a whole person with your presenting symptoms, rather than treating your disease and you will be prescribed a remedy that fits you as a person with all your symptoms. Your consultation may take up to an hour and a half, so that your homeopath can get all the information required.

You may need to go and find an ND that practices homeopathy. They also practice herbal medicine and acupuncture too. If you don't like the idea of homeopathy, then you can try acupuncture, which is also very effective. However, homeopathy can sometimes go a lot deeper.

Look up in the phone book under Naturopaths or on the internet. You can also look under homeopaths too.

Good luck.
