I've been doing Weight Watchers for 5 weeks and I really like the program. I lost 10 pounds after four weeks and did not lose any last week. I thought I was OK with that because my clothes were fitting better. However, for some unknown reason, in my mind, just because I did not lose weight in week 5, I threw in the towel and ate from Wednesday to Sunday. I gorged myself. Why? I can't understand why I would sabotage my hard work just because the numbers on the scale did not move. I'm following the plan today but it took 5 days to get back to it. What is wrong with me? Does anyone else experience this?
The one good thing about the program is that I know I have to get weighed in two days and that put me back on track. If I was not in the program, I'd probably still be eating. Help.

I have said many times that weight loss (lifestyle change) is a learning process and yes from time to time we all have our bad days. I am on my own program which I have adapted to but it took me a good 3 - 6 months to really get the hang of it and even 2 year later I have my bad days or weeks even. There is nothing wrong with you, you are atempting to change a big part of your life and it is not easy, the best thing you can do is pick yourself up and just start where you left off .. the only person who can make you do this is you .. not weight watchers, Jenny Craig, Atkins or any other program .. you can follow them but it is still you that has to do it.
Remember that weight loss is a lifestyle change and it's something you do for life, you can't expect to be perfect every single day so don't beat yourself up over it, your just finding out your human and that yes the journey is difficult but you can win !!

Thanks for the encouraging reply. I know that it's all up to me. I guess that's why I was so frustrated - I was ruining my own hard work. But, you're right. It takes practice to change years of bad behavior and I know I can do it.

I can tell you this much, one thing I learned fast is that is that I had to stop listening to other people on how to lose weight .. what I mean is those who would tell me how much water I should drink or how many calories I had to eat or not eat .. for some that might be good but for me a ton of water and 1200 calories a day was not going to work, this is what I do to give you an example:
Breakfast:
1 cup puffed wheat, 1/2 all bran with 1% milk (everyday)
maybe some fruit or low fat yogurt
Lunch:
sandwich, soup, sometimes just a couple slices of toast with cheese and fruit
Dinner:
whatever I want .. normally have fat free jello for dessert
Snacks:
fruit or sometimes I make muffins ;)
Water:
1.5 liters Monday to Friday - weekends I split it over the two days
Exercise:
Monday to Friday - Walk away the pounds videos (I average about 17 miles a week) twice a day
No exercise on weekends unless I decide to take an outdoor walk
I am not telling you to follow what I do but it's just an example, some have told me I don't eat enough or exercise too much but I have lost quite a bit so I just go back to saying that you have to learn what is good for you.
I know you can do it, just be easy on yourself and over time you will find your own pattern
GO GO GO !! :)

Thank you. I'm glad you've found what works for you. My biggest problem is that I have a three year old and a one year old and absolutely no time. However, I am hanging in there and my days have gotten better.

Hello nikki2kids. I was just reading different topics and opions form everyone. I think its great that your trying to make a change in your health. As for me I have 3 kids. (12,8 and 3) I have been really upset with myself for not making a effort to change my weight and health. I do good for a while, and then Yes, there goes the towel in! I eat like I can afford to put on the xtra weight. It's like a big High and Low. Well I just started CortiSlim about 3-days ago. I'm a chicken on taking drugs. All the feedback I have been reading looked pretty ok, so what do I have to lose. Now that my husband is working a different shift from me, I need to get on my treadmill or go to the gym. I signed up w/my 12yr old son. I guess I need to find the energy in me. Its really hard. I hope this CortiSlim helps me in my motivation. Don't give up on your weight watchers. If you did it for those 10 lbs, you can do it again. As for me I have not even lost 1lb, so I need to feel that joy of some kind of success. I will keep trying and keep reading all these great results from everyone. I guess we all have our Give Up Times. Lets just keep trying. Good Luck.

Hey Nikki!!
Well what ever is wrong with you, I have the same thing. It is so depressing. I know what you are going thru  It is just frustrating.
I am in the same situation. I haven't been to WW in 2 weeks. That is why I haven't checked in with you.
The week before last, both kids were sick with some virus - I was totally off of my exercise routine, and eating. We grabbed a lot of dinners out at fast food because I was just too tired from cleaning vomit and runny diapers. Then I said o.k. let get back on track - and my husband was home the whole entire week with pneumonia!!!! Once again, my routine was completely blown. I never even thought about weigh in.
Anyways, my husband is now doing low carb stuff. We got the South Beach Diet Book. So I have agreed to try with him. It is just so much easier if we are doing the same thing. So far it has been great. I got the Atkins Bread (it has 6 grams of carbs per slice) so I can still have a sandwich at lunchtime.
Anyways, just wanted to tell you - don't feel alone, we all have this problem. Hang in there!!
