for the past couple of weeks i have felt horrible.
with the seasons changing and all my sinuses are SO bad.
i have bad headaches, sinus pressure, swollen glands, and achy body and really bad drainage in the back of my throat.
my problem is that i cant make this go away and i need to know if theres anything i can do to make it stop draining.
its upsetting my stomache because for the past few days it has been draining non stop down my throat and into my stomache.
my nose isnt running at all and i cant seem to cough this stuff out because its just in my throat.

so how can i make this go away?
because i am terrified of throwing up (i have a HUGE phobia of it) and i know that its possible to throw up from this, from too much mucous being in your stomache.

so if anybody knows what i can take or what i can do to make the drainage in the back of my throat stop PLEASE let me know.
because i'm scared and misserable.

thanks
-Jackie

Hi,
A week ago I was feeling exactly like you. My head was about to explode, I was always tired and nothing was coming out when I was blowing my nose. I went to a natural product store and asked what I could take to feel better. She gave me some drinkable Echinacea ampoules (I hope it's the right word, I don't speak english very well) and vitamines C. I've been taking it for four days now and I feel a whole lot better. I would suggest you to try it and I hope it helps you as well as it did for me.
Good luck!

Regularly, to prevent such problems coming up, i take Telfast. It helps with eyes, sinus, hives, etc.

Check out (or get someone else to do it for you) the herbal tablets available. I find Echinacea (tablets) [i use 'BIO-ORGANICS' 10,000 Complex], and Hypericum (tablets) [i use 'Natural Nutrition' Hypericum 200 + Ltyrosine] very helpful. Even Garlic (odourless! :p) tablets help. -because the stress of the allergy symptoms on the body is much like cold/flu.

There are many more things available though.

I'm sorry you are feeling so rotten, and i hope you get better asap! :)

Have you tried Claritin or Allegra? I agree with the above responses as well. Go to a natural store and ask for some advice. If you can go natural, I certainly would go for that!

Taking an antihistamine will help. If you can take deconjestants then get a combination. Several are over the counter meds.

Here is an old time remedy that works wonders:

Nasal irrigation using 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, 1 cup boiling water. Stir to dissolve, pour thru paper coffee filter and put into clean nasal spray bottles. I add 1 or 2 drops plain glycerin to keep solution from being too drying to nasal passages. Keep for only 1 week because it does not have preservatives.

When cool, lie on back with head hanging off, put few squirts of salt solution into each nostril, massage cheeks, slowly turn head from one side to other. Say letter "kkkkk" while getting up to prevent solution from draining down throat.

This salt solution is what I call "Sinus Drano". Use morning and night.

Peditrician had me give children plain Robitussin so I decided to try it for myself and it worked. Use 1/2 or 1 teaspoon plain Robitussin before bed, no drink after. This will coat throat and thin mucous during the night.
