I have not worked for over 2 years. I have panic disorder with agoraphobia.
I have no health insurance, was turned down and can't afford the treatment I need. I can't get medicaid because of my 401K.
What can I do? I know there are free places to go for thearpy but what about meds. I went to needymeds.com but can't get the doc to respond.
Anyone else with this problem?
Thanks

Have you applied for diability yet?
The only other option would be to take money out of your 401k. It will be penalty free as a disability option, and after you've spent it you'll be eligible for Medicaid.
Not a great option, but it maybe the best you've got.

I'm in the same boat. I have narcolepsy and just got dropped from my husbands insurance. We don't qualify for any help throuh the state because of his income.
As far as your 401k goes, fill out the medicaid app anyway. I just talked to my medicaid office again and got a really nice lady. She said because of the circumstances I may qualify for some type of help and they'll help me w/ my disabiliy. But they can't tell you unless you turn in your app.
Do you know what meds you need? Look up the maker of that drug and a lot of times they'll have a program that you will qualify for, free of charge. You will need your docs help getting them your med info so they know it's legit.
Good luck.
