I did not tolerate Clariton, gave me a headache all over top of head.

I use over the counter "Chlortrimeton" which does not have a conjestant. I do not tolerate conjestants either.

Also use Beconase Nasal Spray.

I have definitely felt i developed a tolerance to Clariton. I used it one summer and it worked fine, the next it did absolutely nothing. I thought it was just me.

Jumi,

What do you use now?

Allegra didn't work, I am trying Zyrtec now.

TIA

Zyrtec seems to be doing a great job so far - 2 days into using it. It does make you drowsy, so I take it a while after dinner.

No more runny nose, getting up at 3am sneezing, and runny nose, etc.

Guess I'll have to drink more Java !

Good Day to all,

Claratin-D worked wonders at first, but after many months of it I found it to be ineffective and was again addicted to Afrin. Yes, I know it's bad but I'm addicted to breathing. I'm considering Zyrtec or Clarinex. I read that "Clarinex is the active metabolic product of Claritin and may be 11 times more effective than Claritin."

Phillipmo - Clarinex was the same as Clariten for me - with both I would be awakened at 3am with runny nose, sneezing, etc. Both would provide relief most of the day but not 24 hours.

I do not get congested, so mine was only an antihistimine.

Good Luck,

T
