My wisdom teeth are coming in very fast,they are just starting poking out, which means its closer to have them removed :( . My question is does it hurt having them removed and after???thanks

I don't think there's any way to avoid some pain for the first day or two, but it's really manageable if you follow the surgeon's instructions. Not really much worse than recovering from a bad cold or something like that for a couple days. There shouldn't be any pain during the procedure, and if you take the option of something like IV sedation you won't even have a clue what they did until it's all over.

I didnt feel any pain on the 1st and 2nd day (just a LOT of drooling), then on the 3rd day, I started feeling a little pain in the sockets. After the 4th day, my jaw on the left side was KILLING me :eek: That pain lasted almost a week!! My oral surgeon said its because I am a "clincher" :nono:

I was lucky. I didn't have any pain, mostly my mouth was really sore and hard to open. I did drool a lot of as well. When my stitches came out it hurt just a little, but that was it.

Do not worry. Even if you do feel pain, your dentist/oral surgeon should've already provided you with some painkillers. I think if you're careful for the first three days after the extraction (no physically exhausting movements and hot liquids) you'll be okay.

i have had my removed and it didn't hurt at all but i did sort of wake up and started to cry during it but i quickly feel back to sleep and woke up when it was all over :bouncing: :rolleyes: didn't have any trouble recovering so hope everything went well

You know, this is kind of funny. I did the same thing. Went home, fell asleep, woke up and started crying. Then went back to sleep. I've heard of other people doing this too. Has to do with the drugs they give you.

My removal went well. Didn't really drool a lot, but I did spit blood for a day or two. Then the mouth started to stiffen. Other than that, it was fine.
