I have a tiny goosebump like rash that itches
insanely on my arms between my elbows and
wrists and on my neck. It's slightly
on the tops of hands also. They are not hives.
The neck thing has been going on for a while.
The arm thing started several wks ago.
No creams help with the exception of Sarna.
That helps temporarily. Benadryl helps for
about 1/2 an hour max. My Dr. just put me on
Allegra. I don't know if that has to build up
in your system or not but I've had 3 pills so
far and they are not doing much. We have a
puppy but the Dr. doesn't think it's the puppy.
I'm not any worse around the puppy. And it's
really not on my hands ! It starts at my wrists
and moves back to my elbows and the neck
is pretty bad. I'm not using new soap,etc
and even if I was -I would think i would have
this rash somewhere else.

Is it possible that you have eczema? I have it on my face and it is tiny red bumps, kind of sandpaper-like, and it itches like crazy! Have you tried a cordizone cream? You have to be careful with these creams as they thin the skin after alot of use. I use elocom(a prescription)diluted 50% with lotion. It is a cortizone/steriod cream.

No, I don't think it's eczema.It's not really rough at all. Actually,since my post,I have determined that it's only happening on parts of me that are exposed to the sun. It's been cold and cloudy the last few days and it's getting better. If I get warm it starts itching again but not as bad as it did. I'm trying to find out more now about different things that could possibly react to the sun on your skin. I'm guessing it's something I've ingested since it's so uniform on the parts that are exposed to the sun.

If it is a heat rash of allergic reaction, a cortizone cream should help to relieve it until you can find what is causing the problem. I feel for you as I have had a heat rash before and it is horribly itchy.

Some medications can cause photosensitivity, so you may want to keep that in mind. Also, if it is the sun that is bothering you and not the heat you should try a good sunblock.
