I have osteoarthritis and I was wondering if I wear a copper braclet will it help? Also does it help other areas besides your hands? There's so much I need to know. Any treatment at all.. it is very painful and I'm at a loss for what to do.

Last June I bought 3 copper bracelets for my arthritis hands and it didn't do anything for my arthritis but they sure look pretty, I have one with my birthstones in it as well. I really don't know about their healing "powers" I've worn them for 6 months all three at the same time and I still have arthritis in my hands and as well as carpal tunnel, I wear them for their looks now instead of what healing they may have.

I read that they don't work, but an assistant to my Orthopedist wears one and said it helps him.

Like anything else it can have a placebo effect to. I go to Qwack Watch and they do alot of research on this kind of stuff, no scientific evidence that the copper even leeches into the blood stream enough to produce results. But it can have a placebo effect, like mind over matter. The ones I purchased are very pretty with unique designs and I wear them all the time, no effect whatsoever but I get compliments on the look.

Thanks all, if there's anyone else who has experience let me know. I'm a university student and I don't really want to spend money on something that won't work. Again I'm willing to try though

What I find interesting is that even though wearing a copper bracelet is nothing more than an old wive's tale, they have them for sale at every pharmacy I've ever been in.
BTW - that Q-Ray bracelet is a big hoax, too. I read about it in an informercial review website and people posted on their results wearing it, which were NO RESULTS except being a hundred bucks slimmer in the wallet.
