Hi, it's been awhile since I have posted on this board, I'm usually on the thyroid board. I have been having IBS symptoms that have progressively gotten worse. I went to a gastroenterologist about 3 weeks ago and he thought that I could be lactose intolerant. He put me on a lactose free diet for 2 weeks, in which didn't help. He also had me do a fecal test to make sure that was ok and it was. I have called the office last week to talk to his nurse and say, what is the next step for me to take. She said she would have the doctor call me. Hasn't happened yet and I just called there to talk to his nurse and was told she was with patients and probably wouldn't be able to call until tommorrow. Now, need-less-to-say, today has been unbearable with these symptoms of abdominal pain, bloating, and gas. Ugh, it is hard to sit here at work and maintain any normalicy. I am very disappointed in this doctor, and he and his partner are the only ones in this town. I didn't think he was very thorough, or very good at listening to me. Any ideas?
