sleeptweedledee 11-20-2003, 01:29 AM Has anyone out there tried Midrin for tension/vascular headaches? Please any success out there? :bouncing: zavey 11-20-2003, 03:54 AM didn't help my tension headache or migraines... sunshine18 11-20-2003, 02:27 PM It worked for me sometimes! And it's better to take than Exedrine, which can cause rebound headaches due to the caffeine. MagnaV45 11-20-2003, 03:27 PM Midrin didn't do me any good with my migraines. It was utterly worthless!! I have to use a daily preventative med. and use Relpax when one hits. Some times nothing works. Dark room and Ice pac time. Karla 11-20-2003, 04:35 PM My son takes Midrin for migraines and it works great for him. He is able to go to school and work after taking this medicine. It helps him a great deal. spongebob_mom 11-21-2003, 11:54 AM I have taken Midrin for several years. They don't help me much. Every once in a while, they'll take away a tension headache. They also make me feel sleepy (I think there's some kind of relaxer in it). They didn't help me a lot, but once a while they worked. Jane sleeptweedledee 11-21-2003, 12:32 PM Well guys I thank you for your replys and Karla I am so sorry bout your situation keep your head up you have come far and I will keep you in my prayers. I have been taking fioricet for a year every morning to keep daily tension headaches away but every month I am now starting to get migrains to the point where I end up in the ER getting Demerol shots and I think they could be rebound but they are so bad I was screaming in tears across the hospital. Anyway someone gave me a sample pack of Midrin and I thought it might help but I have one treatment pack and want to save it for the next migrain which is only around once a month. thanks so much:wave: storkheels 11-24-2003, 03:45 PM Has anyone out there tried Midrin for tension/vascular headaches? Please any success out there? :bouncing: I have tried Midrin for tension/vascular headaches and it did absolutely nothing. It was just like taking candy. I have a few freinds who have tried it too for their migraines and it did nothing for them either. The only thing that has ever helped my headaches is something with codine (sp?) in it. But medication treats everyone differently and I say it can't hurt to try, hey if it works for you then you have found a way to relieve your headaches, it's worth it to try, I would do just about anything to relieve my headaches. Actually, I have just started using a new line of products that is 100% natural and I haven't had a headache since, 1 week now - that is a record for me. I usually get one everyday or at least 5 a week. If you want more info on the natural products you can e-mail me at tlc4imoms@yahoo.com. Otherwise just keep trying med till you find one that works, but remember all meds have side effects, many of which can be very bad. When trying new meds remember to make sure someone else is with you, you never know when you will have a reaction. Good Luck to you! cmomson 11-29-2003, 04:39 PM i tried midrin and it did not do anything for my headache at all. sorry sweety. what does work for me however is amitriptyline? 25 mg each night. i did gain 20 lbs on it though but no more headache! im gonna talk to neuro on 12/1 about possibly trying topomax cause i have read that it aids in weight loss while still keeping headaches away. if it doesnt work then i will continue with the amitriptyline? anyway good luck with finding relief! |
